Basic Instinct should be seen as a standalone course – it has a beginning, middle, and end. It is designed for women who don’t want to become martial artists, but wish to possess lifelong self-protection skills. Simply taking our Two-Day Intensive or our Six Class Course significantly improves a woman’s ability to protect herself on multiple levels. After the course is completed, there can be an occasional “refresher” class that allows students to practice, refine and further their base knowledge.
Our Six Class Course proceeds as follows:
A focus on posture, strikes, kicks, and break falls. These are the foundation physical self-protection moves.
The first of a two-tiered class taught in an underground parking garage. Here we will learn and practice defending against different modes of assault involving enclosed spaces such as stairwells, elevators, and the interior of a car.
The second class in location-based assault will focus on getting choked and defending against different worst-case scenarios that take place in a car – assault, attempted rape, and kidnapping.
A walking tour through various street and campus locations will focus on environmental awareness, the psychology of predators, their methods, their ideal target spots and their objectives.
Home invasion and assault will be discussed at length, as well as the physical strikes and kicks necessary to repel a home invader.
This final class is the no-holds-barred real deal – students experience a worst-case scenario of home invasion and violent personal assault while sleeping in a dark bedroom environment. This episode tests all of the survival skills learned so far.
